Retail Operations Director, Hamrick's Inc.
Reports to: Company President
Location: Gaffney, SC
Summary: Supervise, motivate and direct all Retail Personnel and Operational functions to assure the most efficient, cost-effective and productive Retail Operations Department possible to enhance company profits. Sets the strategy and pace for retail operations. Coordinate corporate and retail objectives in order to meet company goals. Strive to create excitement, enthusiasm and a TEAM effort to produce profitable results from all of retail operations.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for Auditors, District Managers, Company Carpenter and Loss Prevention to assure
accuracy and integrity of store financial area and inventories
• Schedule and Monitor the Annual Physical Inventories
• Provide direction as to all areas of operations concerning appropriate policies and procedures
• Monitor Monthly maintenance reports and coordinate work to be completed
• Work with Human Resources to establish and improve upon company training programs
• Interview and give input concerning key operations positions
• Assist in coordinating efforts between Distribution, Controllers and Stores
• Work with District Managers to assure proper training of all key retail personnel
• Communicate with District Managers concerning store needs and update DM's from corporate meetings and situations and provide direction as needed
• Work with all areas to resolve problems and situations as quickly as possible to afford a smooth retail operation
• Establish and update retail policies and procedures, as well as company-wide policies (such as travel)
• Research and negotiate to assure the company is receiving best contract rates available and to provide cost savings when possible
• Implement all new store renovation plans, purchases and supervise all work until completion of grand openings
• Approve all retail invoices and travel expense reports for payment
• Research new store sites as requested by upper management and make recommendations
• Responsible for pruchase of all shopping bags, store fixtures, hardware and interior & exterior signage
• Communicate with customers and investigate all comments and complaints reported at corporate level
• Plan monthly payroll budget for all hourly store employees for approval of president, monitoring each pay period and providing monthly recaps to president
• Coordinate District Manager and Store Manager's meeting at Corporate office
• Perform other duties as assigned by upper management
Special abilities, required skills or education needed to perform the essential job functions:
• College Degree and/or 10+ years of retail (executive/corporate) experience
• Strong retail management leadership skills
Physical Demands of the Job:
• Ability to operate all office equipment
• Ability to travel
• Attending and overseeing store openings
